What are cookies?

Cookies are short text files created by a web server and stored on your computer via a browser. When you later return to the same website, the browser will send the stored cookie back, and the server will retrieve all the information it previously stored thereon. The vast majority of websites use cookies for their activities.

How cookies are divided

Cookies can be divided depending on who places them on the website, i.e. into:

  1. First party cookie - their validity is limited on the domain of the website you are viewing. These cookies are considered to be safer.
  2. Third party cookie - are placed by a script from another domain. This allows to track users across domains. They are often used to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising channels.

According to durability, cookies can be divided into:

  1. Session cookie – they are deleted from your computer when you close the browser.
  2. Persistent cookie - after closing the browser, they are retained, they are only deleted after a very long time (it depends on your browser settings and cookie settings). You can also manually delete them.

According to the purpose we can divide the use of cookies as follows:

  1. Technical – they enable basic functions of the web (e.g. login) or pages (e.g. playing videos, sharing content, etc.)
  2. Analytical – they are used to collect non-anonymous data on users’ behaviour. Based on these, we can customize the website to make it easier to use.
  3. Remarketing – they serve to target ads to users who have already visited our website.
  4. Conversion - with their help we can evaluate the success of the campaigns.

What we use cookies for

We use the following cookies on our website:

  3. Hotjar – first party, long-term, analytical.
